Al-Taff University College organized the Seventh Scientific Conference on Linguistic, Literary, and Comparative Critical Studies in cooperation with Al-Janayin Cultural Center on Saturday and Sunday (18–19), through three sessions held both in-person and online, with broad participation from researchers and academics.
The conference was based on a scholarly vision emphasizing that comparative studies represent a rich intellectual field where linguistic structures interact with literary and critical systems. This interaction contributes to exploring textual and cultural relationships and enhancing intercultural dialogue among languages and literatures. It also aimed to reinforce the status of comparative studies as an active academic discipline that keeps pace with modern methodological developments and supports the advancement of scientific research and cultural exchange.
The conference featured the participation of more than 40 researchers who presented 32 papers across various themes, accompanied by rigorous academic discussions that enriched knowledge and fostered scholarly exchange.
The conference concluded with several key recommendations, most notably promoting the interdisciplinary nature of comparative studies and linking them with modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, developing specialized terminological studies, and supporting Arabic as a language of science. It also emphasized the importance of digital transformation in academic research.
Furthermore, the conference recommended encouraging joint research between academic institutions locally and internationally, organizing specialized training workshops for researchers, and activating conference outcomes through publication in peer-reviewed journals and linking them to institutional development plans.
The recommendations also highlighted the importance of expanding future conference themes to include emerging topics, as well as integrating comparative studies into university curricula to develop students’ critical thinking, enhance awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity, and prepare qualified academic professionals capable of addressing contemporary challenges.
